The band had a great few days away down in Hastings for the National Pipe Band Championships! We placed 5th overall in Grade 4b. Looking forward to nationals in Auckland next year
The Band are off to the National Pipe Band Championships in Hastings/Napier tomorrow! We have our final band practice tonight! We are competing on Friday! our MSR is at 9:18 am our Medley is at 11:42 am and our Street March is at 3:54 pm. Our competition music for the 2020/2021 season has been picked and music is out drum scores have been written so if there’s any pipers or drummers interested in playing with us this season as we will be going to the nationals in hastings contact either Damian or Kyle today! We are currently practising over zoom so anyone keen may join in!
The band recently had a wonderful trip down to Invercargill in the South Island to compete in the national pipe band Championships. Also a big shout out to Lovett lodge in invercargill! The hosts were awesome and was such a cool place to stay! The band came 9th out of 13 bands so we have retained our placing from the previous nationals we played in two years beforehand. Looking forward to next season! Bring on Hastings 😀.

On Saturday the Band competed at the Paeroa Highland Games! The Band came 4th Overall with the drummers coming second in the medley and the midsection coming second in the Street March. The Band is now fully in the new uniform which we think looks amazing 🙂 afterwards the band enjoyed playing in the tattoo with the massed bands. Next Contest is in Rotorua which we are looking forward to! Enjoy some photos from the day below
The Band is currently in the process of changing our uniform. Our new Tartan is “Spirit of Scotland” We have changed to Grey Shirts, Silver Ties, Charcoal Socks, Silver Flashes and our new grey sporrans have just arrived!
